Photography > Industrial Collection (2005)

This collection a look into the areas and parts of Christchurch that are usually considered to be dirty or 'eyesores'. These are buildings and structures that communities fight against to keep them out e.g. Power lines.

As this is the general public opinion, they are placed on the outskirts of our city. I find these areas to be intriguing at night, as the change in lighting hides the dirt and grit, allowing the beauty to come through.

These buildings are ones of pure function, there to serve a purpose, but in photographing them, they take on beautiful forms with intriguing lines, the pipes and security fences adding to the mystery of the purpose of these structures.
